NBA Champion and San Antonio Spurs superstar Kawhi Leonard has reportedly had enough in San Antonio, per Chris Haynes of ESPN. Adrian Wojnarowski adds that Leonard prefers to be dealt to Los Angeles.
While surprising, we could have also seen this coming. Kawhi appeared in just nine games this season, missing the rest with “injury.”
Following Game 2 of their first round series against the Warriors, Gregg Popovich appears to take an indirect shot at Kawhi, praising his teammate LaMarcus Aldridge for “leading the team, never complaining, and being there for his teammates night after night.”

Kawhi stopped attending Spurs games in March this season, and was not on the bench for any five of San Antonio’s playoff games, instead “rehabbing” his quad in New York.
With LA as his prime target, Chris Mannix of Yahoo Sports indicates a potential dark horse that could acquire Leonard.
It appears we have Kyrie 2.0 on our hands for our offseason entertainment this summer. A Kawhi trade could happen tomorrow, or not until August. Time will tell.
Kawhi is set to make $20.1M next season and $21.3M (player option) in the 2019-2020 season.
