Going into this past week, Milwaukee was sitting at 6-3. A solid record for sure, but the Bucks did not always make it look pretty. Not to mention, they would be hit with big injury news to Khris Middleton during the week following the Thunder game. Speaking of which…

Result: W 121-119
Slightly outperforming expectations to start the 2019-20 season, the Oklahoma City Thunder hosted the Bucks sporting a 4-5 record. A team that has shown thus far to fight until the very end, OKC did just that. Despite being up 112-101 with 2:04 remaining, the Bucks struggled to put the Thunder away, even having the game be momentarily tied up off of a Danilo Gallinari triple. In the end, though, Milwaukee pulled away to pull out the win, with a CP3 heave near the buzzer providing the final margin. Oh, there was also this pretty exchange between George Hill and Giannis:

Result: W 124-115
Another team filled to the brim with young talent, from big-time rookie Coby White to the LaVine/Lauri tandem (when healthy), the Bulls are certainly not a team to mess with. Whenever they come into Milwaukee, fans can always expect a solid matchup. On Thursday, that is exactly what they got, as the Bucks came away with a nine point win against their rivals to the south, even though the game got as close as 117-114 with less than two minutes to go. With a tilt Monday against them as well, the Bucks and Bulls are seeing plenty of each other early on.

Coming into Saturday’s contest against the Pacers, one storyline was omnipresent in Bucks land leading up to it. Former point guard and fan favorite Malcolm Brogdon was set to play against his first team for the first time. However, the injury bug struck as the Prez hurt his lower back against the Rockets the night before and was forced to miss the contest. He wasn’t the only one, as Victor Oladipo, T.J. McConnell and Jeremy Lamb were also out, depriving Indy of a majority of their backcourt depth, and the Bucks coasted as a result. Now, will the next matchup, perhaps with the two teams at full strength, have a similar result? Perhaps not, but the Bucks will certainly take a win against perhaps their biggest threat in the division this season.

What’s Next
The Bucks hit the road again tonight in Chicago (4-9) and Wednesday in Atlanta (4-9) before finally returning home for the remainder of the week (Thursday vs. Portland [5-8], Saturday vs. Detroit [4-9]). All four of these teams have started under .500, but as always, the Bucks will have to go to work like business as usual.
Bucks Visit Jabari
The Bucks end their lengthy streak of road games Wednesday night against the Atlanta Hawks, where the Bucks are set with another rematch against former No. 2 pick Jabari Parker. Jabari is averaging 17.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.3 steals per game so far this season, stepping in for John Collins in the starting lineup after he was suspended for violating the NBA’s Anti-Drug policy.
