Each week here on Bucks Lead you can look forward to reading Bucks Roundup, a recap of last weeks’ games and a look ahead to the upcoming week!
This week’s though, will be slightly different. But we will get to that.
Monday January 22nd: Bucks 109, Suns 105
It certainly wasn’t pretty, but a W is a W anyway you can get it. The Milwaukee Bucks took an early 30-26 lead at the end of one. By halftime the game was tied at 53, because, of course. The Suns took the lead late in the third quarter as Milwaukee started to go cold, falling behind 79-76 as the third finished. In a teeter-totter affair of a fourth quarter, it was the Bucks who ended up pulling this one out.
Friday January 26th: Bucks 116, Nets 91
This will be short, sweet and to the point. The Bucks walloped the Nets and it was fun to watch. Giannis was absolutely spectacular, and looked to be a man possessed. The MVP candidate looked every bit of it tonight, finishing the evening with 41 points, hit all 3 of his threes, 13 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.

Sunday January 28th: Bucks 110, Bulls 96
Milwaukee debuted their “City Edition” jerseys and they came away with a win, so looks like cream is the Bucks lucky color. This was another classic buzzer to buzzer stomping, over a weaker opponent, which is so nice to experience from this side of the equation.
In a game where all thirteen Bucks saw the court, Giannis once again led the way with 27 points (11/19 shooting), 9 rebounds, 8 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block. Dude’s just awesome at this sport.
Okay the reason we kept it short. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the biggest thing that happened this week was the firing of Jason Kidd. I’m not going to rehash the whole thing, if you’d like to read more here is Melissa Colton explaining:
Jason Kidd was one of the worst coaches in the NBA and his departure was necessary at some point, was this the right point? Well, that’s for you to decide.
This Weeks’ Games
Monday January 29th vs. Philadelphia 76ers
The Bucks just dropped a game to the Sixers 9 days ago but that was in the Jason Kidd era. All KIDDing aside, the Bucks are 25-22 and the Sixers sit at 24-21. This is an important game as a measuring to see where either team is at. Be sure to watch Giannis vs. Ben Simmons, with Embiid likely sitting out (back-to-back) the two studs will be the point forwards. Simmons can fall to the background every once and a while and if he does in this one, the Bucks should be able to roll.
Thursday February 1st @ Minnesota Timberwolves
The Bucks will be fighting uphill on this one. Jimmy Butler is hot, Karl-Anthony Towns is a deserved all-star and the super bowl is in Minneapolis 3 days from this game. The sneaky thing to watch in this game: the matchup between Tyus Jones and Malcolm Brogdon. Although beloved by Bucks fans, Tyus Jones might be the better player and if he is able to out-duel Brogdon in the battle of the second units, the Bucks don’t stand a chance.
Friday February 2nd vs. New York Knicks
UNICORN BATTLE ALERT! Giannis vs. Porzingis. That’s the battle that all of the casual fans will want to see. The biggest thing that could happen in this game: Jabari Parker could make his season debut after tearing his ACL last season. Seeing Bully-Ball Bari on the court has me so excited for Bucks basketball!
Sunday February 4th @ Brooklyn Nets
All we can hope for is a repeat of last week. The Bucks took care of business at home and if they can do so on the road the Bucks will start to inch into a safer playoff spot. 3-1 is very possible for the Bucks this week and with the possible return of Jabari Parker – this is one of the biggest, most exciting weeks for Bucks fans in a long time.
