Lengthy Success
Sadly few good situations last long in the NBA. The Cavs went to four finals in a row, but are now 19-55. Sunday the Cavs had the lead, but…actually, they never had the lead. And the halftime show was only about 15 minutes. But as Jim Paschke observed, there’s an unusual aspect of Marques Johnson‘s number 8. Paschke observed that, on its side, 8 resembles the infinity symbol, which is how long Johnson’s number will be in the Fiserv Forum rafters.

While Johnson may not be in the hall of fame (yet), Giannis seems to already have one foot there. Speaking of fast situations, this dunk took just five seconds, which is about as long Cleveland was in the game.

The Greek Freak casually sliced the Cavs for 26 points, even splitting a double team for a shockingly easy dunk (1:05). (Well, maybe not so shocking by now).

And the game turned into such a lackluster blowout that even Bonzie Colson, who apparently is a star in the making too, made his first NBA bucket.
And if you listen carefully, you’ll hear that “happy and you know it”, Milwaukee’s signature win song, is playing with three possessions left! For now, all is well as the Bucks take another step towards home-court. But the Forum ambiance was a bit different.
Sobering Success
With a big win over a really bad team, Bucks fans had little need to scream. The win feels satisfying, but with an impending sense of finality. With just eight games left, the best regular season in decades is nearly finished. Unfortunately, the haters do have a small point: the playoffs do mean the most. So for three more weeks, the Bucks can coast to a near-certain top seed. But once the Cavs and other pretenders fly to the Caribbean for the offseason? Get the mean mug ready, because the Bucks playoff dynasty could well last forever too.
