Green and Cream Scrimmage
On a crisp fall morning in Milwaukee, Bucks fans lined up outside the new Fiserv Forum to see what has been taking place the past week in training camp. With plenty of familiar faces, the practice gave fans an inside look at the new coaching staff and how they are implementing a new system for this team. Walking in, you could feel the buzz of fans looking around in awe of the atmosphere that the Forum brings to the upcoming season.
We Talking About Practice
Everyone knows how the Packers sell out their family night each year, but it was clear that the Bucks organization wants that same success for this team as well. With tickets selling out within a day, fans are eager to take a sneak peek of what’s to come. Practice began with Head Coach Mike Budenholzer explaining what the drills are helping the players do. Especially, showing that corner threes are goal. I have never seen so many big men taking a corner three with confidence.
As the scrimmage began, falls were sad to hear that Giannis would not be partaking, but in a way it’s okay, because we all know what he is capable of and the main focus should be on others and how they are fitting into the new system. As said, with many threes taken, that meant a lot of makes and misses. New center Brook Lopez showed that he will be a threat outside the arc, but Henson might want to slow his role on taking a 30 foot shot.
Milwaukee Is Buzzing
With other teams in Wisconsin having success right now, it is not to be ignored that this Bucks team is also making noise around the state. When all was said and done, the scrimmage was a success. Being on the brink of a new NBA season, Milwaukee showed up and showed that we are an NBA town and the hopes for a successful season have never been higher.
The event showcased what the organization wants the fans of Milwaukee to have: a place to watch a winning team and an organization they can be proud of. It’s hard to say, but there might be no other NBA city that has what Milwaukee’s does. Years of anticipation of the future have lead all to this. The scrimmage was only the beginning of what is to come. We are talking about practice here, but when it boils down to it, this is where it all starts. Here is to a new season and everyone now knows that they must fear the deer.
