The Boston Celtics will face the New York Knicks on Tuesday night at the TD Garden in Boston. The Celtics will officially raise banner number 18 into the rafters, and the players will receive their championship rings.
The Celtics will be defending their title, while the Knicks will be looking to claim their first title since 1973. The Knicks made a flurry of offseason moves, most notably the acquisitions of Mikal Bridges from the Brooklyn Nets and Karl-Anthony Towns from the Minnesota Timberwolves. In these moves, the Knicks parted ways with Donte DiVincenzo, Julius Randle, Bojan Bogdanovic, and Shake Milton.
The Celtics made no major deals over the offseason, and have kept the team virtually the same from the team that won the title in June. The only losses the team suffered were Oshae Brissett (FA) and Svi Mykhailiuk (Utah). However, the Celtics will be without their starting center, Kristaps Porzingis, for the first month of the season due to left posterior tibialis tendon surgery rehabilitation.

Predictions
The Celtics will have all the momentum towards them Tuesday night. Fresh off their first title in sixteen years, Boston will be tough to beat in an extremely loud TD Garden. Although the Knicks will be a tough opponent with their new additions of Bridges and Towns, Boston’s star power might be too much for the new duo of Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns to overcome.
Score Prediction: Celtics 126, Knicks 118.
