Dallas Mavericks acquire Nerlens Noel

on

The Dallas Mavericks have traded 2015 NBA Champion Andrew Bogut, along with Justin Anderson and a first round draft pick for 2013 6th overall pick Nerlens Noel via Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.

The 76ers have been looking to deal Nerlens Noel for quite some time now, the day of the trade deadline, they finally have gotten Noel out of Philadelphia.

Dallas has been trying to slowly add some young pieces to their roster since they’ve been refusing to start the “rebuilding” process. Adding 22-year old Noel with Harrison Barnes (24), Seth Curry (26) and Yogi Ferrell (23) gives them a very great young core of the future with Dirk Nowitzki seeing possibly his last NBA season.

Philadelphia wanted a good deal for Noel and a good deal is what they got. Adding Justin Anderson and another first rounder to help their young Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons run team, will only give them more youth and a promising future.

The addition of Andrew Bogut is expected not to last, as the 76ers are going to engage on a buyout via ESPN.

Nerlens Noel’s minutes have fluctuated a lot this season with Joel Embiid being in and out of the lineup due to injuries. Noel is averaging 8.9 points per game, 5 rebounds per game and shooting 61% from the field. Being in Dallas’ lineup gives Noel a solidified starting spot, where he can finally get comfortable and see his minutes increase (19.4 MPG).
