Former NBA All-Star and NBA Champion David Lee announced his retirement from the NBA in an Instagram post on Sunday morning.
Lee was drafted by the New York Knicks with the 30th pick in the 2005 NBA Draft and had stints with the Warriors, Celtics, Mavericks, and Spurs. Lee averaged 13.5 PPG, 8.8 RPG, and 2.2 APG throughout his 12-year career. His most memorable run came with the Golden State Warriors from 2010-2015, where Lee was named an All-Star and selected to the third All-NBA in 2013, won his first NBA championship in 2015, and was a fan favorite in the Bay Area.
Following his stint with the Warriors, Lee spent time with the Celtics, Mavericks, and Spurs, where he was a consistent spark off the bench. Lee declined his player option this summer, looking for a similar role on other teams. With no real offers on the table, Lee decided to hang it up. He also recently announced his engagement to tennis star Caroline Wozniacki.
