Russell Westbrook has probably been asked about his stats more this season than any player in league history, and so the topic came up again after the Thunder’s 115-111 loss to the Rockets Wednesday night. His response was to be expected.
“I don’t give a f*** about the line. We lost.” A frustrated Westbrook answered.
His stat line, by the way, was 51 points, 10 rebounds, and 13 assists. His 51 points are the most in a triple-double in playoff history.
It still wasn’t enough, as Westbrook had an icy cold fourth quarter when he went 4-of-18 from the field.
Westbrook’s “controversial” comments come in the wake of Grizzlies’ coach David Fizdale being fined $30,000 for comments made during a postgame interview the other night.
Including Paul George calling his teammates out to get him the ball, the postgame press conferences have been almost as entertaining as the games themselves.
