Draymond Green: Unlucky Summer 16

on

When you think of the summer time, you think of grilling out with the family, fireworks, going to water parks, basically anything that’s fun.  But for Draymond Green, controversy and distractions have taken over his summer.  Draymond has become the heart and soul of the Golden State Warriors, and one of the better all around players in the NBA.  We can’t deny his talent, passion, and love for the game.  But it seems like some of his poor decision making is starting to catch up with him, and it showed during the NBA finals.

After the Cavs won the NBA championship, after being down 3-1 to the Warriors, many people wondered.. if Draymond Green didn’t get suspended, would the Warriors be the NBA champs?  We don’t know.  But deep down inside, the Golden State Warriors are asking themselves this question.

Just a few weeks after the season Draymond was arrested on assault charges against a Michigan State football player.  They did reach a plea deal in the case where Green will have to pay a $560 fine, and no contact with the victim for a year.  But this was yet another bad decision for the 1x NBA All-Star.  Not only does this impact him, but it reflects bad on the organization.

Now the most recent Draymond Green news is him posting a nude picture of himself on his snapchat story.  Draymond apparently meant to send the picture in a private message, but he accidentally posted it on his story.  This isn’t as serious as the previous incidents, but it’s still not something to be proud of.  Draymond would later apologize for the photo.

Hopefully Draymond can end this summer on a good note.  As long as he’s performing on the court, people will soon forget about these distractions.  Like they say.. winning cures it all.
