Steph Curry’s not the only point guard in the league who can knock down threes at a record pace. Wednesday night Isaiah Thomas broke the Celtics franchise record for made three pointers in a season when he his his 223rd of the season.

The previous record of 222 was set by Antoine Walker in 2001-02. Ironically that year Walker had broken his own franchise record for made threes that he set in 2000-01, which was 221.

Because the Celtics lost Wednesday, they’ve fallen out of the number one seed in the East.

There are probably mixed feelings in Boston because of losing that top seed, but Thomas’ record-breaking year is certainly worthy of celebrating.

Honestly, the fact that they are even in position to take the one seed from Cleveland should be enough reason to celebrate.

Thomas will look to add to his record Friday when the Celtics take on the Magic.
