It’s Absolute Mayhem in Minnesota

In case anyone missed it, the Minnesota Timberwolves cancelled today’s preseason practice and closed off all public media access.

This occurs just a day after Jimmy Butler’s emphatic return to practice. A return in which he reportedly cussed out multiple members of Minnesota’s front office.

Instead of practice today, the Timberwolves reportedly held a “players only” meeting, lead by, you guessed it, Butler.

This is intriguing, but not exactly surprising given what has transpired over the last 48 hours. However, the Minne-soap opera continued with this tweet from T-Wolves point guard Jeff Teague:

Oh boy.

Shams is right up there with ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski as the most credible when it comes to leaking the NBA’s biggest and baddest secrets, so this is head-scratching. For what it’s worth, Teague hasn’t tweeted since July 8th. In fact, that is his only real tweet this year. Shams has yet to reply or tweet additional information since his last tweet shown above, but expect more to come soon.

It remains to be seen what will truly happen in the coming days and weeks, as Minnesota is embarking on a crucial turning point. The Timberwolves play visitor to the Milwaukee Bucks tomorrow in what will be the preseason finale for both squads. Minnesota played the Bucks just last Sunday at their G-League facility in Ames, Iowa, in where the Bucks emerged victorious.

Andrew Wiggins is known to have disagreements with Butler, and in a situation where they could potentially start to improve their relationship, he is reportedly not attending tomorrow’s preseason game in Milwaukee, Jon Krawzynski of The Athletic reports:

To add insult to injury, the weather in Minnesota is representative of the Timberwolves bizarre, ongoing situation. Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs addressed this yesterday via Twitter, which included a clever reply from a fan:
