Everyone seems to have taken notice of the movement in the Twin Cities. After acquiring Jimmy Butler in a draft-day trade with the Chicago Bulls, the Minnesota Timberwolves have vaulted themselves into the playoff picture in a crowded and competitive Western Conference. And free agents have taken notice. Jeff Teague, Taj Gibson, and now Jamal Crawford.
Crawford has agreed to a 2-year/$8.9M deal with the Timberwolves. Crawford, who was bought out by the Atlanta Hawks after being traded by the Clippers, gives the Timberwolves a solid backup PG, the one position that took a hit during the course of free agency.
Crawford averaged 12.3 PPG while shooting 41.3 percent for the Clippers last season. He generated interest from the Cavs, Lakers, and Warriors, to name a few teams.
With Jeff Teague replacing Ricky Rubio and Jamal Crawford replacing Kris Dunn, the Timberwolves have a solid roster to make some noise in the Western Conference.
