Joel Embiid Out For The Remainder Of The Season

on

Philadelphia 76ers Center Joel Embiid is out for the remainder of the season due to a torn meniscus.  Embiid who underwent a MRI on Monday, which doctors discovered that the meniscus tear in his knee “appears more pronounced.”

The Sixers have limited Embiid’s minutes this season, to prevent another injury. Embiid only appeared in 31 games this season, averaging 20 points and 8 rebounds per game.  He was on pace to becoming the clear cut rookie of the year before his injury.

Ben Simmons who was the number one overall pick in 2016 will also miss the remainder of the season after he suffered a broken foot back in October.  With Embiid and Simmons struggling to remain healthy, the Sixers are in a tough position in terms of building for their future.
