AUBURN HILLS, MI – JANUARY 23: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope #5 of the Detroit Pistons tries to drive around Garrett Temple #17 of the Sacramento Kings during the first half at the Palace of Auburn Hills on January 23, 2017 in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

The Lakers signed former Pistons shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell Pope to a one-year 18 million dollar deal a week after Stan Van Gundy and the Pistons made KCP an unrestricted free agent.

Caldwell-Pope averaged 13.8 points per game in his 4th season. He’s 6’5, a knock down shooter and a solid defender that can guard three positions. He was also the Pistons best energy player.

He will benefit from playing with a pass first point guard in Lonzo Ball.
