Lillard, McCollum Unhappy with Blazers’ Front Office?

The new fiscal year is in full swing, and while Devin Booker is reportedly unhappy with the Suns’ front office, there may be other issues in the wild wild west.

The Brooklyn Nets inked Portland’s backup center Ed Davis shortly after free agency began at midnight ET Sunday, and there was clearly a bond between Davis and Portland’s two stars, Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum, who quickly took to Twitter to voice their opinions.

The deal wasn’t exactly lucrative, as Davis signed for just one-year, $4.4M; one of the smallest deals that broke last night. Lillard and McCollum are two of the most active NBA players on Twitter, and they didn’t take much time to let the world know what they were thinking. Fresh off an upset loss in the first round of the playoffs courtesy of the New Orleans Pelicans, there is bound to be frustration within an organization that had such a successful regular season.

The Blazers did sign Brooklyn unrestricted free agent Nik Stauskas on a very contract friendly deal, but Portland has very little cap flexibility going forward. It’s doubtful to see either of Lillard or McCollum being traded any time soon, but they are definitely not content with the front office’s decision to let Davis walk for virtually nothing.

Davis averaged 5.3 points and 7.4 rebounds over 18.9 minutes per game off the bench last season.
