Lou Williams Agrees to Extension

Lou Williams and the Los Angeles Clippers have agreed to a three-year contract extension, Shams Charania of The Vertical reports.

This means the Clippers will not plan to trade the veteran guard, who is posting career numbers of 23.3 points, 5.3 assists and 1.1 steals over 32.5 minutes per game. The amount of the contract has yet to be released, but one would assume it was a hefty pay day for the 31-year-old.

After moving Blake Griffin to the Pistons last week, the future of the Clips was uncertain, as they also reportedly wanted to move DeAndre Jordan and Lou Williams prior to Thursday’s deadline. With Williams off the table, Jordan is now their best, but potentially worst trade asset given his free agency carousel situation from a few seasons ago.

The trade deadline commences Thursday afternoon at 3 PM ET.
