Luke Walton Says Lamar Odom Would Be A Great Coach

During an interview with TMZ Sports, Lamar Odom said that he would like to coach for the Lakers alongside Luke Walton and Brian Shaw.

Coach Walton, who was a teammate with Odom and won two rings together on the Lakers, had some kind words about Odom.  “Lamar would be great.  Anyone who knows Lamar, when he’s right, he is one of the most likable people they’ve been around. He has a great knowledge of the game and has a great way of communicating with people.”

It was over a year ago when Odom was hospitalized, and he recently finished his time at rehab.  The stress and amount of work that it takes to be an assistant coach in the NBA would probably be too much of a burden for him as of right now.

He was always a smart player, who really understood how to play the game as a point forward.  Maybe he could take a job as a player development coach, and work his way up.

It’s great to see Odom healthy, hopefully he gets an opportunity to coach in the NBA.
