University of Washington alum Markelle Fultz will work out for the Philadelphia 76ers today, the team announced via Twitter.

Yesterday afternoon, news broke out per Marc Stein of ESPN stating that the Celtics and 76ers were reportedly in “advanced discussions” to make a deal happen, reports The Vertical. Philadelphia has shown extreme interest in selecting Fultz, a projected top-three pick.

The 76ers would, unfortunately, have to give up their third pick and also a future first rounder in order to engage talks with the Celtics, who are currently more interested in Kansas Jayhawk Josh Jackson to help on the wings. The 76ers said they are not interested in moving any of their core pieces.

If the deal goes through, the 76ers will be having a young roster with the likes of Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid, and maybe Fultz.

At his time in Washington, Fultz averaged 23 points per game on 48 percent shooting from the field. Fultz also shot 43 percent from three as well. He is viewed as the best scorer in this draft, which begins Thursday.
