According to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical, the NBA plans to announce a suspension 20 game suspension of Knicks center Joakim Noah.
League sources told The Vertical that Noah had tested positive for some type of “over-the-counter supplement” prohibited by the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Noah has reportedly claimed not to have willingly violated the policy by ingesting whatever “over-the-counter supplement” for which he’d tested positive.
No further information has yet been released regarding what he tested positive for that has warranted this suspension.
His suspension will begin the final ten regular season games of the 2016-17 season, and conclude during the first ten games of next season.
This is yet another black mark on the Knicks’ already disastrous season.
Joakim Noah is currently signed with New York for the rest of this year and three more years to a contract worth $72 million.
So far, Noah has missed almost have the season due to having arthroscopic surgery on his left knee and averaged a lackluster five points and just under nine rebounds per contest.
