There is something poetic about beating the Vikings at home on a crisp November Sunday in Lambeau Field and still having people mad for not scoring enough points.
That’s Green Bay Packers Twitter in 2025: spoiled, ungrateful, yet… absolutely right.
Sunday’s beatdown of “9” was domination. 12 of 19, 87 yards, two picks, and five sacks for a total loss of 35 yards.
No RB1 for the Pack, but Emanuel Wilson picked up the slack with two touchdowns. The Green and Gold controlled time of possession 37:15 to 22:45.
Thanks to a muffed Vikings punt, Green Bay scored 23. Yet… it should’ve been something like 38-6.
Jordan Love attempted just 21 passes. He completed 14 for 139 yards with no touchdowns and no INTs, but still finished with a passer rating of 85.2.
When he did drop back, the offense hummed: Almost ten yards per completion; chunk gains to Dontayvion Wicks and Christian Watson. The run game had a respectable 3.5 yards per carry— good enough to win, but not good enough to justify 36 carries when the passing game is clearly trending up.
If It Ain’t Broke, Why Run It?
Wins are hard to come by, especially in the division. In fact, the Packers just doubled their divisional win total with this win against the Vikes. With that 1-5 record in the back of his mind, Matt LaFleur stayed with his scared brand of football.
Not to take away from Emmanuel Wilson’s big day, but Sunday proved once again that when the team leans into Love’s arm talent, this offense is more than competent. However, LaFleur decides to get cute with “establishing the run”, resulting in Brandon McManus field goals instead of six.
It’s as if LaFleur wants to run out the clock as soon as the second half begins.
The Packers won by 17, controlled the game from the jump, and still left at least 14 points on the field because the HC refused to keep his foot on the gas through the air with just eight passes in the 2nd half.

Now Here Comes The Real Test
Thanksgiving afternoon in Ford Field. A Lions team that needed overtime to put away the now 2-10 Giants (couldn’t be the Packers), led by the famous Jameis Winston. The Honolulu Blue aren’t the juggernaut they were last year— they are 7-4, not 11-1. They barely survived until Jahmyr Gibbs went full beast mode on a 69-yard dagger in OT.
But don’t let the score fool you: The Lions’ offense is still terrifying. Goff at home under the roof, Gibbs and Montgomery healthy, St. Brown eating in the slot. This one is going to be pivotal for the NFC North race, with the Bears playing on Black Friday against an angry Philadelphia Eagles squad.
For the Pack, it should come down to one simple question: Will Matt LaFleur put his trust in his QB?
Detroit’s secondary just got torched for 366 yards by Jameis Winston… Their pass defense is nearing the bottom half of the league. So Thursday afternoon is the referendum.
Let Jordan Love take shots to Watson and Wicks early. Attack Brian Branch in the slot with Doubs. Let the man use play-action and hopefully slow down Aidan Hutchinson. Because if we have learned one thing from this season, 27 points is the sweet spot for winning games for the Packers.
Handing the ball off 30+ times to play conservatively would be a dream come true, but this is reality. The Lions’ pass defense may not be superb, but their rushing defense is going to be the best Green Bay has seen so far, clocking in at No. 10. If Josh Jacobs is out again, it would be hard for Wilson to replicate another two-touchdown game, especially with the shuffling O-Line.
It’s time for LaFleur to trust his QB. Let No. 10 cook on Thanksgiving. He’s averaging 270 yards and 2.5 TDs on the holiday after all!
Let’s hope he’s feasting on that turkey leg…if FOX doesn’t drop the ball, that is.
