Amidst all the drama in Cleveland, the 2017 NBA free agency period continued on the other side of the country.

Unrestricted free agent PF/C Pau Gasol has agreed to re-sign with the Spurs on a three-year deal, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN broke via Twitter.

Gasol had planned to return to San Antonio all along despite opting out of his $16M player option. Despite averaging a career-low 12.4 points and 25.4 minutes per game in his first season with San Antonio, the 17-year veteran still recorded 39 starts in 64 games for the Spurs this past season, showing he can still contribute on one of the best teams in the league.

Gasol rejoins LaMarcus Aldridge, Kawhi Leonard, and newly acquired Rudy Gay in the Spurs loaded frontcourt, as San Antonio looks to make their push to take down Golden State.
