The Baltimore Ravens gave 25-year-old wide receiver Rashod Bateman a three-year, $36.75 million contract extension that includes $20 million guaranteed.

Rashod Bateman’s Injury History Slowed His Start
Bateman suffered a groin injury during practice, causing him to miss the first five games of his rookie season after being placed on injured reserve. During his first season, he showed flashes of potential when healthy.
In his second year, he was off to a solid start with 226 receiving yards and two touchdowns in the first three games, but a foot injury shut him down for the season after playing six games. These injuries slowed his development and chemistry with Lamar Jackson, costing valuable time in an evolving offense.
Turning the Corner
Bateman stayed healthy in 2023 for the first time in his professional career. He played a supporting role behind rookie Zay Flowers and a run-heavy offense. His production was modest, but he showed progress in route running, as reflected by his elite separation grade.
Bateman had his best year in the 2024 NFL season. He posted a career-high 756 receiving yards and nine touchdowns as a featured playmaker on a run-first team that was increasingly relying on Jackson’s throwing ability. He also stepped up in both of the playoff games this year, catching a touchdown pass in each of the games played and finishing with six catches for 90 yards.
With Flowers already established and Hopkins joining the offense, Bateman should benefit from more space this season. His strong separation skills position him to take advantage and make an even bigger impact.

This extension didn’t dominate headlines, but it quietly supports something the Ravens have lacked: stability at wide receiver. Bateman is now part of a group that finally offers balance, chemistry, and depth around Lamar Jackson.
