According to Marc Stein and Adrian Wojnarowski, the Atlanta Hawks have claimed veteran point guard Jose Calderon off of the waiver wire.
It was speculated that the Warriors would sign Calderon to help them in their attempt at a third straight Finals appearance.
The Hawks could definitely benefit from having an extra ballhandler on their bench in the hyper-competitive East – where Atlanta is two games from the three seed, but only five games from the eighth seed.
Calderon has only played an average of about 12 minutes per game this season with the Lakers, scoring just 3.3 points and recording just 2.1 assists a night. He’ll most likely have a larger role in Atlanta and showcase more impressive stats in the last few weeks of the regular season.
