The Spurs have once again shown that they have the ability to attract talented free agents on cheap contracts. Talented swingman Rudy Gay agreed to a 2-year/$17M contract, giving the Spurs a pure scorer they can pair with superstar Kawhi Leonard.
Gay, who is coming off a ruptured Achilles injury, joins a championship contender in the Spurs after spending the last few seasons on struggling Kings teams. He called out the front office of Sacramento last season and warned against free agents from playing there. Hopefully, a fresh start and something to play for in San Antonio will allow Gay to breakout and have a great year next season.
