Russell Westbrook has scored five triple doubles in the last six games, and has continued his historic statistical tear through the Association Monday night on the road against the Utah Jazz in a narrow 97-95 win.
In 36 minutes, the five-time All-Star scored a game-high 38 points on 11-of-29 shooting, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished out 10 dimes for his league-leading 22nd triple-double. Only two other players have more than four (James Harden, LeBron James).
It was also the 59th of his ongoing nine-year career, tying him with Boston Celtics legend Larry Bird for fifth all time.
It took Bird 897 games in Celtic green to post his 59 triple-doubles, while Westbrook only suited up for his 632nd with the Thunder at Vivint Smart Home Arena.
