The Miami Heat were no match for Russell Westbrook and his 5th seeded Oklahoma City Thunder, winning 106-94. Westbrook added another triple double to his already outstanding basketball resume.
Westbrook had 29 points, 11 assists and 17 rebounds during the game. With his triple double, Westbrook now has 30 for the entire year so far.
With his 11 assists, most of them were to C Steven Adams who scored 15 points on 70% shooting from the field. All of this is a result of the dribble penetration and exquisite awareness from Westbrook.
By halftime, Westbrook was two rebounds shy of a triple double. Not only is this significant, but this was the fastest triple double Westbrook had this season.
Tomorrow, his Thunder will be facing the resilient defensive-minded Memphis Grizzlies at the FedExForum. It will be interesting to see how the Grizzlies defend him. Tony Allen will most likely be in charge of guarding Westbrook throughout the game, as he’s their best defender.
