Interest in Phoenix Suns guard Brandon Knight and swingman P. J. Tucker has been becoming more and more stagnant as the trade deadline approaches.
While both names have been on the market for some time now, it seems as if Phoenix is having trouble finding the right suitor and offer for either of their players.
Here’s a quick breakdown of some of the teams who have been linked to Knight and Tucker, whether either will be moved or not.
Brandon Knight
Currently the Sixers, Magic, and Wizards have been linked to rumors surrounding Knight. A Sixers/Suns deal involving Okafor and Knight once seemed like Philadelphia’s fail-safe. Though, adding Okafor and not trading Len or Chandler would create a logjam at center for Phoenix.
Philly made big news earlier today when they shipped Nerlens Noel to Dallas for Andrew Bogut, Justin Anderson, and a first round draft pick. It’s unclear whether the team will keep Bogut, or if he’ll ultimately be dealt somewhere else.
It’s also unclear if this trade takes Okafor off the market. If so, then Phoenix will have an even harder time moving Knight.
The Magic have been linked to rumors about acquiring Reggie Jackson from the Detroit Pistons, but sources from ESPN have hinted at Jackson staying put in the Motor City. Brandon Knight could be a back-up plan for Orlando.
The Wizards have some interest in Knight but seem to have interest in other players ahead of Knight.
It wouldn’t be too surprising if Brandon Knight remains on the Suns past the trade deadline. Knight isn’t the only player rumored to be on the trading block from Phoenix.
P. J. Tucker
Right now, the Raptors are leading the pack to acquire the veteran forward from Phoenix. In the past weeks, multiple teams had been linked to P.J. Tucker, but now it seems the talks have boiled down to the Raptors.
Although the Raptors are also interested in acquiring Wilson Chandler of the Denver Nuggets, and the price seems to be the same. The Nuggets and Suns each want a 1st round pick from Toronto for either of the players. The Raptors will likely move Jared Sullinger in any deal with either Denver or Phoenix.
Along with Knight, it seems like the chances of Tucker remaining in Phoenix after the deadline are very real.
