Fantasy football season is underway, and with it comes emotional goodbyes to your injured players and underperformers. Thankfully, the waiver wire is filled with boom-or-bust players ready to turn your team’s trajectory upside down.
Wan’Dale Robinson
A clear pickup off the waivers for many leagues, Robinson burst out of the gate this week in Russell Wilson‘s spectacular performance against the Cowboys.
With eight catches for 142 yards and a TD, Robinson shocked the fantasy world as a widely undrafted player. Now logging the second-most receiving yards behind Malik Nabers, Robinson emerges as a potential WR2 or flex option.
While a breakout game cannot determine a pledged commitment to your starting lineup, you can expect great things to come. Wilson is notorious for repeatedly targeting receivers once their chemistry has been established. The Giants face the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3, whose defense has allowed wide receivers to run the field in the first two weeks of play.
Troy Franklin
The Broncos have a clear question mark as to who will be the lead target behind Courtland Sutton; although, Sutton is not performing to standard either.
Marvin Mims Jr has been relatively quiet, Evan Engram is struggling, and Pat Bryant has two catches. Despite this, Troy Franklin is emerging as a primary target of Bo Nix. Surprisingly, he leads the Broncos in targets, receptions, yards, and yards per catch. Additionally, he leads in yards after catch and has the longest reception of the season for Denver, per ESPN.
While Franklin is continuing to lead a confusing Broncos receiving room, look to pick him up as a potential flex or primary backup.

Kayshon Boutte
The New England Patriots are still finding their identity, and it seems like they’ve stumbled across a diamond in the rough. A player that many people didn’t know existed, Boutte came out the gate swinging in Week 1 — six catches for 103 yards. Who was this 23-year old nobody putting up this type of game?
However, in Week 2 he slowed down tremendously, only logging one catch for 16 yards, though it was a touchdown.
After a respectable 2024 season with 589 receiving yards, Boutte is clearly showing he has the experience to become a clear number one target that Drake Maye needs. In spite of this, he still is competing with the likes of Stefon Diggs, Rhamondre Stevenson, Hunter Henry and Austin Hooper. While his potential is high, look at Boutte to be a respectable backup WR/flex option. Drake Maye still needs development and consistency before he establishes his go-to receiver.
