Stephen Curry
Stephen Curry has won the last two MVP awards and even become the first player in NBA history to be the unanimous NBA MVP. But Kevin Durant has joined the Golden State Warriors and this will greatly impact Curry’s scoring and rebounding averages.
Stephen Curry’s Estimated Stats for 2017 NBA Season:
27.0 PPG, 7.4 APG, 4.5 RPG, and 2.2 SPG
Russell Westbrook
Since Westbrook entered the league in 2008 he has played with Kevin Durant. Durant was regularly seen as the better player on the Oklahoma City Thunder and Westbrook has not had the opportunity to be the only star on a team. But now Durant is on the Golden State Warriors and Westbrook is the only star on the team, but he is also outraged about Durant’s decision and is ready to prove a point. With Westbrook’s abilities and anger it would not be very shocking to see him average, or come close to averaging a triple-double.
Russell Westbrook’s Estimated Stats for 2017 NBA Season:
28.5 PPG, 10.2 APG, 8.2 RPG, and 2.0 SPG
LeBron James
LeBron James is a 4x NBA MVP and this season he could very well win another. As we all know LeBron James will have another season of great scoring, passing, rebounding, and defense. But LeBron James will also more than likely have a very successful team which we have seen in history dramatically helps a player’s chances of winning the MVP award.
LeBron James’ Estimated Stats for 2017 NBA Season:
25.1 PPG, 7.1 RPG, 7.2 APG, and 1.4 SPG
Kevin Durant
Kevin Durant is now with the Golden State Warriors and everyone believes that he will fit in perfectly. With both Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson hitting several three-pointers Kevin Durant will find himself open. But the Golden State Warriors have to much star power for Durant to average numbers like he did in the 2014 season and Durant may not even be the star player on his team.
Kevin Durant’s Estimated Stats for 2017 NBA Season:
24.7 PPG, 8.3 RPG, and 5.0 APG
Kawhi Leonard
Kawhi Leonard had a fantastic 2016 NBA season. He won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award for the second straight year and drastically improved his offensive skills. He will also have a bigger leadership role as Tim Duncan retired and the Spurs record could improve with the addition of Pau Gasol.
Kawhi Leonard’s Estimated Stats for 2017 NBA Season:
22.4 PPG, 7.1 RPG, 2.7 APG, and 2.0 SPG
All these fantastic players, including others unmentioned, have an opportunity to win the 2017 NBA MVP award but with Russell Westbrook having a leadership opportunity like never before and more than likely averaging very close to a triple-double he is the clear favorite to become the MVP next season.
