Former Rockets F Trevor Ariza has agreed to a one-year, $15 million with the Phoenix Suns, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports.
Ariza was a solid contributor for the Houston Rockets, who finished with the best record in the NBA last season, going 65-17. The Rockets had a solid postseason run, pushing the eventual champion Golden State Warriors to seven games in the Western Conference Finals.
Ariza, 33, averaged 11.7 PPG and 4.4 RPG while shooting 41% from the field this season. The swingman is also a solid defender, locking up numerous players on the perimeter.
Ariza will be joining a very young Phoenix Suns team whose young core of Devin Booker, Josh Jackson, and Deandre Ayton will require the veteran leadership that Ariza can provide.
