Update for the New Milwaukee Bucks GM

on

With the draft just two weeks away the vacant General Manager position of the Milwaukee Bucks has been narrowed down to three people, Adrian Wojnarowski of the Vertical announced via Twitter on Tuesday. Denver’s GM Arturas Karnisovas, former Atlanta GM Wes Wilcox, and Milwaukee’s own Justin Zanik are the remaining candidates. The two outside candidates are reportedly flying to Milwaukee to meet with other officials within the team.

The fan base of the Bucks can ease back a little as we come to a close on the circus that has been the search for a new GM for the team, as most of us (including me) expected Justin Zanik to be promoted immediately as he was hired with the intention of being GM in-waiting. However, it makes sense to test the waters and see what is available now that the position is actually open and if someone who the ownership feels is better and available, why not make the move.

Everyone will have their opinions on who should be the next GM of the Milwaukee Bucks but the take that I feel everyone can get behind is this search needs to end soon. The draft is two weeks away from tomorrow and if they plan on bringing an outsider into the organization, that person will need as much time and they can have to prepare for the start of an important off-season for the team.
