Week 3 can cause serious panic for managers who begin the year 0-3 or 2-1.
A rough start can result in tilting or desperation moves on underperforming players, and there are a few opportunities to exploit this week. As always, I’ll be here every Wednesday providing three buy-low targets to make inquiries on in your leagues.
Travis Kelce, TE, Kansas City Chiefs
Rashee Rice has dominated in the middle of the field where Kelce typically operates, leaving Kelce with scraps for fantasy production. At age 35, we’ve entered unusual territory for the great and the washed allegations have begun, but I’m not ready to go there yet.
His route participation remains high at 84%, and with Rice tearing teams apart, perhaps opponents will add extra attention to Rice moving forward, opening things up more for Kelce.
Brandon Aiyuk, WR, San Francisco 49ers
Aiyuk hasn’t produced like his investors wanted thus far, but he’s still an elite route runner as evidenced by his top ranking in route separation win rate through Week 3.
Players who miss camp tend to start slow. Aiyuk’s timing with Brock Purdy is not in sync and he’s suffered uncharacteristic drops as well. Better days are ahead for the Aiyuk and the 49ers.

Tee Higgins, WR, Cincinnati Bengals
After missing the first two weeks due to a hamstring injury, Higgins’ season debut disappointed in the box score, but he looked good out there. He threatened down the sideline and in the red zone, but Joe Burrow‘s accuracy was more of the issue Monday night.
The good news is the Bengals’ defense has struggled mightily to start the year, which will set up Bengals pass catchers for favorable game scripts moving forward. Higgins is still getting warmed up, but tilting managers might part with him for a reasonable price.
