Many of us have experienced the Harry Potter franchise at some point.
A fun activity that comes with it, is sorting ourselves into a Hogwarts House. Discovering whether you are a Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, or Slytherin has become a rite of passage. When sorted into your house, you typically reflect the characteristics you display that align with what each house is known for.
In honor of Halloween, and the start of the 2024-25 NBA season, we thought sorting the Timberwolves’ suspected rotation into their respective Hogwarts Houses would be fun.
Starting Five
Anthony Edwards is without a doubt a Gryffindor.
He is fiercely loyal, as shown in the viral interview where he said, “They got KD, but we got Jaden McDaniels.” His daring nature was on display when he posterized John Collins last season, even dislocating his finger in the process.

Jaden McDaniels is a Slytherin.
He punches walls when he’s angry. He’s usually determined to cause the other team a bad night, like when he tried to dunk the ball when Game 7 was over. He believes he is the best defender in the league.
Julius Randle is a Ravenclaw.
Randle started a program when he was a New York Knick called “30 for 3.” He raised $1.3 million for a new Earl Monroe New Renaissance Basketball School in The Bronx. He was also recently filmed doing some drills during a shootaround with Timberwolves Assistant Coach Corliss Williamson. Even in year 11 of his NBA career, Randle continues to be a student of the game.
Mike Conley is also a Ravenclaw.
He is competitive and always looking to teach his younger teammates. Rob Dillingham, the Timberwolves rookie point guard, said “With Mike, you can ask him anything & he doesn’t have a problem explaining it. It’s great having him as my vet.”
Rudy Gobert is one hundred percent a Hufflepuff.
He shows extreme dedication to the game of basketball. Gobert often finds himself being the target of many viral clips on social media.
Rotation Players
Donte DiVincenzo was a tough one since he is a new addition to the team. The Michael Jordan of Delaware gives major Slytherin vibes. The most recent example is when he was chirping at the bench of the New York Knicks during the recent Wolves preseason game and also got involved in an exchange with New York Knicks Assistant Coach Rick Brunson.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker spends a lot of time reading, so naturally, he is a Ravenclaw. He even spoke with a local reporter about how reading has helped him get through some mentally challenging times.
Naz Reid has become a cult phenomenon for Timberwolves fans over the last few seasons. So much so, that a local Twin Cities Tattoo parlor offered $20 Naz Reid Tattoos during the post-season last spring. Minnesota has even done a beach towel giveaway, that has sparked the towel to show up at places like concerts, football games, and even WWE’s Wrestlemania. Reids’ status within the fan base sees him sorted into Gryffindor.
