Dwyane Wade Expected to Reach Buyout with Bulls in ‘Next Few Months’

According to Nick Friedell of ESPN, 3-time Champion Dwyane Wade & The Chicago Bulls are “expected to reach a buyout agreement at some point in the next few months.”

The Chicago Bulls attempted to build their own Big Three last season with Wade, Jimmy Butler & Rajon Rondo. Their attempt wasn’t very successful as they ended up with a 41-41 record, where Wade missed 22 games & Rondo spent almost over 20 games coming off the bench due to chemistry issues. Only to end the season with the last playoff spot out East, losing in 6 to the Boston Celtics.

With Butler being traded to the Timberwolves for Zach LaVine & more young assets, as well as Rondo not having a huge welcoming back to Chicago, Wade doesn’t have a big future at 35 years old on a rebuilding franchise he’s spent only one season with.

D-Wade also had a chance to opt out of his $23.8M contract this upcoming season, but opted in June before the Butler trade & Rondo departure.

Vincent Goodwill from CSN Chicago reported, Head Coach Fred Hoiberg doesn’t expect a buyout with Wade; but now with the 12-time All-Star being the highest paid player in Chicago, we might see them reach a buyout agreement to help Wade play for a contender in his 15th NBA season.

Could we see Wade take a pay cut & join his buddy CP3 in Houston? or perhaps see a LeBron & D-Wade reunion in Cleveland for LeBron’s last season as a member of the Cavaliers?
