Game 1 between the Atlanta Hawks and Washington Wizards got a bit chippy yesterday, and power forward Paul Milsap would  be the first to tell you that. Milsap scored 19 points in the 114-107 loss to the Wizards Sunday afternoon.

When speaking to reporters after the game, Milsap had this to say about the Wizards:

“The difference in the game was we were playing basketball and they were playing MMA,”

“They were physical. When the game is like that, we have to match their physicality. But again, we’ve got to go get some moves and bring them back to the court.” via ESPN.com.

Milsap referred to the moment where him and Wizards forward Markeiff Morris in a tussle but stated that it was just “two guys playing hard”

After the loss Milsap remained optimistic of the Hawks chances to win the series.

“I just want to reiterate that it’s a long series,” Millsap said. “They did what they are supposed to do. They won home-court advantage and they got this first game. They did their jobs tonight. I think it’s important that we come out and get this one Wednesday and take it back to Atlanta.”

Game 2 is set to tip off at Wednesday at 7 pm et.
