During a time where the Houston Rockets franchise was in dire need of a superstar, they found one in the 2002 NBA draft.  Yao was selected by the Houston Rockets as the number one overall pick, and history was made from there.

Yao went on to become an 8x NBA All-Star, 5x All-NBA team member, and a 2016 Hall of fame inductee.

The unusual skills mixed with a 7’6″ body, made Yao a force to be reckoned with during his career.  Yao’s ability to shoot the ball, and defend made him a top center in the NBA during his career.

On Friday February 3, 2017 the Houston Rockets would celebrate Yao Ming by retiring his jersey.  In attendance of the jersey retirement were some of Yao’s former teammates who included: Steve Francis, Tracy McGrady, and Shane Battier.

Even James Harden was happy for Yao.
