After many lead changes, the Sacramento Kings pulled away from the Phoenix in the late fourth quarter to win 99-92. The Kings bounced back after dropping their last game to the Toronto Raptors by 15 points.
Sacramento couldn’t take control for the first three and a half quarter of the game and never lead more than four points before taking a 91-85 lead with three minutes left in the contest. That was a part of a 13-0 run by the Kings that put away the Suns for good.
Zach Randolph struggled to score for the majority of the game but was Sacramento’s go-to man down the stretch. Randolph scored 11 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter.
After missing Sunday’s game for personal reasons, George Hill played like a man on a mission against the Suns. Hill shot 6/9 from the field for 18 points to go along with seven rebounds.
The Sacramento bench continued its phenomenal play and scored 51 points. Buddy Hield and Willie Cauley-Stein led the way for the second unit with 14 and 13 points respectively. Cauley-Stein was very active in his first game back after missing three with a lower back strain.
Rookie spark plug Mike James was dynamic for the Suns, as he posted 17 points on 7/12 shooting off the bench. TJ Warren led the way for Phoenix with 18 points and five rebounds.
Sacramento played a very strong game and only turned the ball over nine times after coughing it up 22 times against Toronto. These are the type of games the Kings need to continue to win to prove that they’re making strides this season.
Bogdan Bogdanovic posted 10 points, five rebounds, and four assisted, while playing 33 minutes off the bench. Sacramento moves to 9-18 on the season and travels to Minnesota on Thursday to take on Jimmy Butler and the Timberwolves.
