The Sacramento Kings lost their last game before the all-star break to the Houston Rockets on Wednesday 100-91. The Kings were coming off a win in Dallas while the Rockets carried a nine game win streak.

Houston jumped out to a 6-0 lead early in the 1st quarter before the Kings came surging back. It was a back and forth game from that point but Sacramento managed to finish the quarter up 25-20. Chris Paul failed to score until 36 seconds left in the quarter, but he more than made up for it by dropping 17 in the 2nd quarter. His numbers combined with the production of James Harden allowed Houston to outscore Sacramento 35-20 in the 2nd.

Bogdan Bogdanovic was the main point of attack for the Kings and he led the team with 20 points at game’s end. Sacramento found themselves down by as many as 16 points in the third quarter as they struggled with shooting and free throws. They were able to end the quarter down 9 points, 72-63.

Sacramento continued to struggle, finishing with 17 turnovers compared to 9 against the Mavericks. Ultimately, Houston was able to close out the game and win 100-91. The game ended on a sour note after De’Aaron Fox fell to the floor and was cut above the eye. He required stitches after the game.

Harden led the Rockets with 28 points as they extend their winning streak to 10 games. The Kings now have a week to rest during the All-Star break until they face the Thunder on Feb. 22.
