“I’m sorry. I lost my focus and concentration. What’d you say?”

-Steve Kerr after Warriors 108-91 loss against the Thunder.

Kerr’s postgame comments is the esssence of what went wrong for the Golden State Warriors last night against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

This was a game that the Thunder needed and they played like it. The Thunder brought the energy especially in the open court while the Warriors were listless in transition.

The fact that the Warriors yet again imploded with more turnovers than a bakery just made this loss more frustrating.

The Warriors committed 22 turnovers against an OKC team that leads the league in steals, deflections and points off turnovers. Oklahoma City made the Warriors pay as they scored 34 points off of those turnovers.

“We didn’t play smart”

-Stephen Curry

If it wasn’t the turnovers, it was the decision making. What I don’t understand is why didn’t Kerr switch Klay Thompson onto Russell Westbrook? I also don’t understand the failure to take advantage of bigs that switch on to Curry or set high screens.

Granted, it’s just a dud of a game in November but on the other hand, the Warriors are still making the same mistakes that’s costing them games-lack of focus and discipline and turnovers. Will this loss be the one that will force them to lock in and stay that way? We will find out soon enough Saturday against the Bulls as the Warriors open a 3 game homestand.
