Free agency arrived swiftly, leaving a trail of destruction behind. Exciting signings, failed deals, and revamped rosters offer hope to the desperate. But what about the teams that accomplished little? These five teams exited free agency with broken hearts and angry fans.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Goodbye, Travis Etienne Jr.; Hello…Chris Rodriguez? A rough start to free agency has led the Jaguars to arguably make some of the worst moves of any team so far. Losing additional players like Devin Lloyd and Greg Newsome II, and failing to replace them, doesn’t help. Although Rodriguez and Bhayshul Tuten have potential, it’s hard to see this outweighing what they’ve lost.

Unless the Jaguars have a phenomenal NFL draft, fans might want to visit a rage room.

Minnesota Vikings

Sadly, the salary cap crisis finally overwhelmed the Vikings. After Ryan Kelly retired and Javon Hargrave and Jonathan Allen were released, the Vikings lost their footing. Shockingly, interim general manager Rob Brzezinski’s best idea has been to sign Kyler Murray

Well, it wasn’t just Murray. Carson Wentz has made his fiery return as well—a rough offseason for Minnesota with little light at the end of the tunnel.

Kansas City Chiefs

A team known for disliking its cornerbacks, the Chiefs have done it again. Trent McDuffieJaylen Watson, and Bryan Cook are all gone. No matter who the Chiefs pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, it’s hard to believe they can replace these players so easily.

However, with the addition of Kenneth Walker III, not all decisions made were disastrous. Chiefs fans still see Taylor Swift on their screens for at least another season, since Travis Kelce refuses to retire.

Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons keep making headlines in the quarterback scene, but not for the right reasons. After signing Tua Tagovailoa and releasing Kirk Cousins, questions about Atlanta’s future rise. If that wasn’t enough to upset Falcons fans, Tyler Allgeier moved to the Cardinals, and Dee Alford signed with the Bills.

The Falcons, however, placed a franchise tag on Kyle Pitts. With Pitts returning and Bijan Robinson in the backfield, the Falcons can’t be counted out yet. Still, the upcoming NFL Draft will decide the fate of the Dirty Birds fanbase.

Green Bay Packers

Had it not been for the signing of cornerback Benjamin St-Juste, the Packers were losing players left and right with no way back. Malik WillisRomeo DoubsQuay Walker, and Kingsley Enagbare all found new teams. In addition, the Packers also released longtime lineman Elgton Jenkins

After a disappointing 2025 season and the shocking signing of Matt LaFleur, the Packers aren’t escaping the criticism. Cheeseheads may take over the organization after this season if they don’t have a strong NFL draft.

Not all hope is lost for these teams, as the NFL Draft can completely transform a franchise. Despite mistakes and critical fans, the NFL is full of surprises with its franchises.

One team’s trash can be another’s treasure, but these five teams discarded treasure and didn’t even sign trash.
