Gut-wrenching losses are an all-too-familiar feeling that eases into normalcy for Broncos fans. Although they’ve already had a few of them to start off the 2025 season, not all hope is lost.

Starting with a golden opportunity against the struggling Cincinnati Bengals tonight on Monday Night Football, the Broncos can change the tide and regain the fire they had to start the season before it’s too late.

Bo Nix Needs to Take Charge

It’s no secret that Bo Nix has struggled thus far in the season.

Whether it’s time management, decision-making, or fundamentals, Nix has started slowly. To throw for 153 yards against a division rival is not a championship-level performance.

The quarterback who led this team to its first playoff berth in 10 years needs to reappear, and soon. No matter what, the Broncos’ attempt to revive this shaky offense will ultimately fail if Nix cannot pull himself out of this lingering slump. In fact, what better opportunity for a spark than against a struggling Bengals team that was decimated by the Minnesota Vikings?

Broncos Defense Needs Rest

Another blatant yet critical factor that’s led to the Broncos’ failure to deliver is through time of possession. The Chargers had 12:40 more time of possession than the Denver Broncos in Week 3.

No matter how powerful a defense is, the more it stays off the field, the better. For all of the good the Broncos’ defense has displayed, it cannot outperform its own lack of offense.

Some fingers that are pointing are blaming the defense, yet it is a struggling offense that leads to their lapses in play. When this high-powered defense has a chance to rest and adjust, it delivers game-changing plays that set the pace for the offense to take advantage of. Allowing this to happen is crucial for this Broncos team going forward.

Take Advantage of Upcoming Games

No matchup in the NFL is ever easy or guaranteed. Take the Week 3 Packers-Browns game, for example.

With that being said, considering the slate of games the Broncos have over the next few weeks, things are looking bright. Only one team in their next six matchups has a winning record. Two of the six are playing with completely new quarterbacks.

Few teams are lucky enough to face a schedule that has the more inconsistent teams of late consecutively listed in back-to-back weeks. Whether fans should consider it luck or a call to action, the Broncos have a chance to revitalize their team and take back their offense’s elite status. Although the Broncos have performed well in every game so far, moral victories mean far less than wins on the scoreboard.

This is the National Football League; it’s time for the Broncos to dig in and turn their slow start around, before it’s too late.
