AJ Barner Should Be Your First NFL Player Prop This Season

We cashed on this AJ Barner prop during the Super Bowl, and he is our first prop to start the year.

Look, it’s a clean slate for all of these teams.

We only have last year’s data to go by, but we think we are getting tremendous value on AJ early on.

Barner has cleared this in six of his last 10 games, averaging 28.0 receiving yards per contest while maintaining a steady baseline of 3.8 targets per game.

In the Super Bowl against New England, Barner posted 54 receiving yards and a touchdown on a perfect 4-for-4 catching performance.

New England’s defense has surrendered 25+ receiving yards to opposing TE1s in six of their last 10 games, allowing an average of 55.0 total receiving yards and 5.5 receptions per game to the tight end position.

Also, if Bo Nix had started instead of Jarrett Stidham in the AFC Championship Game, this could’ve been six straight games allowing 25+ to the TE1.

Additionally, New England ranked as the fifth-softest defense in the league in yards after contact allowed to tight ends (2.1 YAC/rec), giving Barner added upside to generate yards after the catch.

Given his consistent target share and proven success against this unit, Barner needs only two or three catches to clear this 25-yard line.
