Curry Hits Game-Winning Three, Leads Dubs Past Mavs 125-122

As soon as Harrison Barnes tied the game at 122 with 13 seconds left in regulation, the Warriors made a quick glance at Steve Kerr. Kerr calmly waved his hand, neglecting to use the team’s final timeout. With that signal, the Warriors leader stepped up and took over the game. Stephen Curry calmly came off a Draymond Green screen to knock down a wide-open three from straight on, giving the Warriors a 125-122 victory over Dallas.

Curry finished the night with 32 Points, as the Warriors’ All-Stars combined for a 100 points on the night. Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant both finished with 25 Points while Draymond Green finished with 18 Points, 10 Rebounds, and 6 Assists.

For the Mavericks, Wesley Matthews led the way with 22 Points on 7/11 shooting, while Dwight Powell tied his career-high with 21 Points. The Mavericks had seven players in double figures, finding ways to score with a multitude of players.

The Warriors had this game in the bag. They were up by double-digits with a little more than three minutes to play in the game. However, the Mavericks, who managed to stay in the game all night, responded with a 10-0 run to tie the game with 39.6 seconds left. Klay Thompson and Harrison Barnes traded baskets to tie the game at 122 to set up the stage for Curry to break the Mavs’ hearts.

The Mavericks had been rolling prior to this game, winning their last four. They managed to consistently make runs to counter the Warriors’ punches, even taking the lead towards the end of the third quarter. However, they were no match for Curry’s pinpoint shooting, as the Warriors managed to escape Dallas with a win.

The Warriors travel to Houston to take on the Rockets in a battle of the top two teams in the Western Conference on Thursday. The Warriors lost to the Rockets on Opening Night after a Kevin Durant buzzer-beater was waved off. The Rockets will be without James Harden, who suffered a strained hamstring on Sunday night versus the Lakers.

The Mavericks will host the Chicago Bulls on Friday night.
