At the start of the summer, rumors circulated that Chris Paul would sign with the Los Angeles Clippers and possibly retire after this final season. The veteran point guard, with 21 years of experience, confirmed in an interview with Jemele Hill that he was considering only playing one more year.
However, recent statements suggest the decision might not be so clear-cut. In an interview with Andscape, Paul said: “No. I’m just saying all this stuff is part of my decision-making in my thought process. Yeah, I don’t know that . For me, I’m going to keep playing it by ear and see what it looks like.”

In the interview with Andscape, Chris Paul shared just how much he loves basketball. It takes up a large part of his daily life, and now, back in LA, he is motivated and more active.
He searches for and watches old plays and videos of himself in offensive sets and sends messages to his teammates to try to implement these plays and help the team.
Paul himself comments: “Last night, I was getting a haircut and I was on my iPad watching clips and shots from 10 years ago. Watching me and James when we played together in Houston, trying to find plays that worked well with us together or whatnot.”

If CP3 is known for anything besides being one of the best point guards in the history of the sport, it is for being a great mentor. The veteran has always helped his teammates improve and elevate their game. Not just rookies, but everyone. Paul’s great basketball IQ allows him to do that.
He did it with Deandre Ayton during his time with the Phoenix Suns. He did it with the league’s current MVP, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, during his season in OKC.
In this case with the Clippers, he is doing so with John Collins. The Los Angeles Clippers’ power forward could be the key to the team’s success this season. The new addition already proved this during his great preseason.

Sometimes the only way you can learn is by playing.”
