Kevin Durant hasn’t shot a basketball since March 30, but he has dominated trade rumors and speculation since.
And, while the NBA world gears up for its first Finals Game 7 since 2016, Kevin Durant continues to fuel NBA Twitter with beef.
NBACentral or NBACentel?
On Friday, four-time NBA All-Star and KD’s former teammate DeMarcus Cousins stated on FanDuel’s Run It Back NBA show that the Suns had “multiple fistfights in the locker room this season.”
Among the best parts about NBA Twitter is the often overlapping content between NBA Central and NBA Centel.
Most of us have become conditioned to avoid being “Centel’d”, but there are still those double-take, “wtf did I just read?” moments that happen almost daily in the NBA world.
Durant Denies Boogie’s Allegations, Boogie Responds
Just over an hour after this tweet went out, Kevin Durant vehemently denied Boogie’s report.
Two and a half hours later, Boogie refuted KD’s pushback and implicated that one of KD’s teammates was the snake.
How ironic.

Monte Morris, who played sparingly for the Suns this season — especially during the second half of the year — was Boogie’s teammate during his last NBA stint with the Nuggets in 2021-22. Could this be who Cousins was referring to?
Nonetheless, KD doubled down on this being false.
It took Boogie several hours to respond to this one, but he finally did late Friday night.
Regardless, someone is lying, or possibly in Boogie’s case, being lied to.
Suns Produced Believable Turmoil in 2025
It’s no secret that the Phoenix Suns had a massively disappointing year. After letting go of Frank Vogel despite a 49-win campaign in 2023-24, the team went backwards with Mike Budenholzer and finished 36-46 this season without sniffing the playoffs.
There was turmoil and subsequent fallout between Mike Budenholzer and Bradley Beal earlier this year. Budenholzer is now gone, and the failed KD, Beal, and Devin Booker trio is almost guaranteed to have played its final game together.

So it’s believable that losses fueled tension, fingers began pointing, and fists, at a minimum, became clenched. Whether there were actual fights in the locker room is up to you to believe or not.
It’s been largely downhill for the Phoenix Suns since their Finals run in 2021. Kevin Durant trade rumors continue to swirl, and it is widely expected that he will be the first domino of the summer. Bradley Beal has perhaps the most untradeable dollar sign in the NBA, and franchise star Devin Booker hasn’t recovered since this happened three playoffs ago.
