It is being reported that the Kings have made Darren Collison, Ben McLemore and Arron Afflalo available for trade.
After making the first blockbuster trade last night as we approach the deadline on Thursday, it appears that the Sacramento Kings have decided to go all in with their rebuild. They began by trading Superstar Center DeMarcus Cousins to the New Orleans Pelicans last night after the All-Star Game.
The Kings excised Cousins, and there are strong indications they are not done dealing, either. Sacramento is determined to restock the franchise with assets, and will be targeting rookie-deal players and draft picks in the coming days, sources told The Vertical. For teams that are in need of Point Guard help, Collision will be a great short term option. He is averaging 13.7 points 4.2 assists and 1 steal per game. Collison is making $5,229,454 and is in the final year of his contact. The 23 year old McLemore is averaging 6.6 points per game this season and can be made a restricted free agent next summer, while Afflalo is due $1.5 out of his $12.5 million guaranteed contract next year.
It may be difficult to find a team willing to take on either of the two, but if they were to keep them, it would not prevent Sacramento from having a good position in the upcoming loaded 2017 draft.
