Well, it’s fantasy playoffs time. Are some of you stuck with a Drake London injury? Worried about CeeDee Lamb potentially not playing? De’Von Achane? If you are in that boat, we have some potential plug-and-play options who could step up big to finish the NFL’s regular season.
If you’ve been following us all year, we have had some huge waiver wire adds — from Rico Dowdle to Sam Darnold, to Harold Fannin Jr., and more recently with Joe Flacco, Alec Pierce, Brenton Strange and Juwan Johnson.
A reminder: for the following waiver wire adds, the player has to be owned by 60% of teams or less.
Running Back
Devin Singletary, Giants: Tyrone Tracy Jr. is ahead of him on the depth chart, but he’s been banged up. Singletary received the bulk of the workload in Week 13 after Tracy Jr. left with an injury.
In Week 13, Singletary had 12 carries for 68 yards and a touchdown, plus three catches for 34 yards. It sounds like Tracy Jr. will be playing in Week 15, but Singletary seems to still be in line for touches.
Singletary has had 17-plus points in two of the last three games. If Tracy is out, great, but either way, you won’t find many better options on the waiver wire. Singletary is owned in fewer than half of the leagues, and if Tracy misses time, Singletary can be a No. 2 running back option.
Jaylen Wright, Dolphins: Achane’s injury opens the door for Wright. If Achane misses time, Wright could be a strong option for a stash. Achane and the Dolphins play the Jets this week on Monday Night Football.
While Achane is expected to play, his managers should roster Wright as a handcuff. Wright filled in for Achane and broke the century mark with 107 yards and a touchdown. The 22-year-old running back had more carries last week than he had all year up to that point. Wright could be that out of nowhere guy who helps push your fantasy team to a championship if Achane has a setback.
Wide Receiver
Rashid Shaheed, Seahawks: Targets can be scarce on the Seahawks with Jaxon Smith-Njigba in tow, but Shaheed is a big play wideout. Last week in addition to a kick return touchdown, he added four catches for 67 yards on five targets.
Shaheed was acquired by the Seahawks in a trade from the Saints. He’s overshadowed by JSN but perhaps his showing in Atlanta will be the start of more targets with Seattle. On the year, Shaheed has 52 catches for 603 yards and two touchdowns on 82 targets.
Jerry Jeudy, Browns: Jeudy was pretty well-targeted by Dillon Gabriel as the starter, but they didn’t connect regularly, hurting Jeudy’s value. Jeudy does seem to have a better rapport with Shedeur Sanders.
Jeudy has been targeted 85 times but has just 38 catches for 497 yards and a pair of touchdowns. While he hasn’t put up eye-popping numbers with Sanders at the helm, he has been catching most of his targets. In last week’s game Jeudy snared three of five targets for 76 yards, including a 60-yard touchdown. Jeudy has a nice matchup against the Bears in Week 15, who are in the top-five for most points allowed to wide receivers.
Josh Downs: Colts: This one is a bit of a question mark. With Daniel Jones out for the year after tearing his Achilles, the Colts’ quarterback situation is a bit wild.
Grandfather Phillip Rivers is the starter this week, but it’s been five years since his last NFL start. Downs has big play potential and can be a solid option if fantasy managers are dealing with injuries to their wide receiver corps. On the year, Downs has 44 catches for 393 yards and three touchdowns on 65 targets. If Riley Leonard plays, Downs’ potential likely goes up.
Tight End
Colby Parkinson, Rams: It’s been a touchdown binge for Parkinson, who has caught a touchdown in four of the last five weeks. The 6-7 tight end has become a red zone favorite of Matthew Stafford, which is saying something with Davantae Adams and Puka Nakua as receiving options. Parkinson hasn’t cracked 50 yards receiving this year, but there is value in catching touchdowns nearly every week, right?

AJ Barner, Seahawks: As mentioned above with Shaheed, it can be difficult getting a ton of looks with JSN on your squad. But Barner has made the most of his targets typically. While he has cooled down a bit, Barner still has caught 40 of 50 targets for 386 yards and four touchdowns.
What makes Parkinson potentially valuable is what has hurt Barner’s value. The 22-year-old tight end hasn’t found the end zone since Week 5. He should have a shot to break that touchdown streak this week against the Colts who give up tight end points in droves.
Another name to monitor: Mason Taylor, Jets. Taylor is working through an injury. The Jets’ quarterback situation makes us pause on depending on him in the fantasy football playoff time.
