Early this offseason, the Packers decided to part ways with both Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks. Doubs departed in free agency and signed with the New England Patriots. Wicks was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Both players had major roles during the Packers 2025-26 season. Doubs recorded 55 receptions on 85 targets for 724 receiving yards and six touchdowns. Wicks recorded 30 receptions for 332 receiving yards. His two touchdowns on the year came on Thanksgiving Day, when Wicks had six catches for 94 yards and a clutch fourth-down catch that sealed the win, a moment Packers fans will always remember from last season.
Replacing what these two players brought last season will require a lot from Green Bay’s current receiving room. However, the outlook remains very positive. The Packers still have a reliable pass-catching unit that will support quarterback Jordan Love and looks to take another leap this upcoming season.
With Tucker Kraft, Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, and Matthew Golden leading the way, the Packers will rely on them to elevate the passing attack.
Tucker Kraft Returns
Before Tucker Kraft suffered a season-ending injury in Week 9 against the Carolina Panthers, he was having a sensational start to the season. Career-best would define it.
In just eight games, Kraft recorded 489 receiving yards on 32 receptions and six total touchdowns, showcasing how important a factor he is to the Packers’ offense. With that level of production, Kraft will have his eyes set on remaining one of Love’s most reliable targets and having another remarkable start to the year when he returns healthy.
Can Christian Watson Get Consistent?
If there was anyone who proved they could be the number one target for Love, it was Christian Watson. Watson tallied 611 receiving yards on 35 receptions and six total touchdowns. He also averaged 17.5 yards per catch. If that doesn’t scream playmaking ability, then what does?
Watson is one of the most explosive pieces of this Packers offense.
In Week 15, when Watson went down with a shoulder injury, his absence was clearly felt on the field. He proved his importance to this Packers offense down the stretch.
Jayden Reed Is a Staple Now
While Jayden Reed’s season quickly resulted in missed time due to a broken collarbone in Week 2 against the Washington Commanders, there were early moments where the offense clearly needed his playmaking ability.
Through seven regular-season games, Reed tallied 207 yards on 19 receptions and one touchdown.
Despite missing time, Reed was placed right back into the receiving rotation when healthy, which showed his importance as he looks forward to a healthy 2026-27 campaign.
Matthew Golden Is Ready to Break Out
Coming in as a first-round rookie is no easy task with all the attention that comes with it. However, Matthew Golden showed flashes of why he was at the top of receiver rankings in last year’s draft.
In 14 total games, Golden had 361 receiving yards on 29 receptions. He also proved himself as a dynamic rusher, finishing with 49 rushing yards on 10 carries.
While it took until the playoffs, Matthew Golden scored his first NFL touchdown on a 36-yard play, breaking several tackles on the way to the end zone.
With glimpses of star potential throughout the season, Golden is proving why he was taken in the first round and why he will be an important piece to this Packers offense.
The Packers Receivers Just Need to Stay Healthy
The Packers’ receiving room has a strong core that can grow together. The talent is already in place; now it’s about consistency and staying healthy.
This group brings a mix of proven production, explosiveness, and young upside that fits well around Jordan Love. The passing attack has real potential to become something special this season.
