Buy-Low Trade Targets: Week 2 Fantasy Football

There’s nothing like the dopamine rush of making a trade in fantasy football, but it’s important to make smart trades that improve your team, rather than ill-advised ones that kill rosters swiftly.

One of the best ways to improve your team is by acquiring underperforming players whose misfortunes are likely to change based on encouraging underlying trends. I’ll be here every Wednesday identifying three buy-low targets to make inquiries on.

Dalton Kincaid, TE, Buffalo Bills

Kincaid managers might be panicked after the tight end saw just a 5% target share in a run-heavy Week 1 from the Bills.

That’s because the Cardinals often blanketed Kincaid with multiple defenders and forced the Bills’ unproven receiving corps to beat them. His 83% route percentage should inspire optimism for future success, especially if Keon Coleman continues to show promise and make defenses worry about more than just Kincaid.

Chris Olave, WR, New Orleans Saints

The Saints’ offense looked refreshed and imaginative under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, granted the success came against a mostly toothless Panthers defense.

The big plays didn’t fall Olave’s way early on before the blowout conditions didn’t require much involvement from him in the second half. Undoubtedly, better days are ahead for the No. 1 receiver, although the offense might find less success against the Cowboys this week given the mismatch in the trenches. Olave managers might not be stressing yet, but it could be easier to pull him away next week if he underwhelms again in Week 2.

Malik Nabers, WR, New York Giants

Nabers ran 100% of the team’s routes and earned a 19% target share Sunday against the Vikings, but it didn’t result in many fantasy points thanks to the poverty of Daniel Jones. It’s unlikely Jones remains the starter all season due to contract reasons or assassination by Giants fans, but in Week 2 he’ll face the lowly Commanders’ defense, teeing up the inevitable Nabers breakout.
